Hosting ".com" websites on SynthaSite

I understand a ".com" domain purchased from say GoDaddy can be pointed to Synthasite. Does "pointing to Synthasite" mean that Synthasite hosts the domain? In no, how does one host a ".com" (not a synthasite subdomain) on Synthasite? I'm getting ready to publish the website I created on Synthasite and not sure how to have it hosted. Also, if I host my new website on Synthasite, I believe I will have control over the site with regards to content and modifications; is this true?

Thanks,

Rosann

Hi Rosann

If you already own a domain from GoDaddy and want to use it to publish a SynthaSite website:
1) We will host your site free of charge
2) GoDaddy will continue to host your domain (ie. provide you with domain name management and any other services related to your domain)
3) You point your domain to our IP address by setting up an Address Record through GoDaddy's DNS management pages.
4) You retain full control over your domain and all the content on your site.
5) Once your domain is configured and your site is published, you can log into your account at any time and edit your site, and then update it with one click of a button!

For detailed instructions on configuring your GoDaddy domain, see our step-by-step tutorial: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/p...

I hope this explanation makes sense to you. If you require any further assistance, please let us know.

Rosann-

You can also purchase the domain directly from Synthasite. I believe Monique will have instructions for you on that as well!

Sorry, Rosann my understanding was that you already had a GoDaddy domain. If you don't I do recommend buying a dot com domain through us, as we can take care of all the set up issues for you.
