Hi, I have a customer which wants to make another purchase, but they have forgotten their password and they can not find where it tells them to re set their password or get a password reminder. Could someone please tell me how this can be done?

Thank you :)

Hello Kakia,

If your customer forgot their Yola/Ecwid Online Store password, the easiest way to recover it is to use the 'Forgot your password' link below the login form.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. However, the customer has said that there is no option showing to re set the password / 'forgot your password?'.

When a customer enters the website and goes onto add an item to basket then goes to checkout, is it at this point it asks them to 'sign in'? If so is this when the option for 'forgot your password' shows?

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it :)

Hi Kakia,

Firstly:

Are we talking about the Yola Online Store?

There are other e-com options with Yola and want to be sure we're on the same ground?

Sorry I didn't realise that there was more than one - I'm very new to website building and Ecommerce sites. Yes it is the Yola Online Store with Ecwid. I hope that makes sense to you :)

Thank you Kakia,

The Sign in is an optional process when buying from you. It allows users to store items in a wish-list and also it may expedite subsequent purchases by your customers.

A customer simply clicks on the Sign-in link. This is where the screen shown above will come into view. They can sign in at anytime on entering your store.

Thank you Gop, I will tell my customer that the sign in is optional and that they can still purchase without signing in - am I correct in thinking this? Or have I just made it all up!!!

That's correct Kakia.

If they wish to sign in and then realise they have forgotten their password, they simply then click the "Forgot Password" on their sign-in. If they have forgotten their email ID then that is another situation and they are stoopid :)

Aha - it now becomes clear - unfortunately it is the 2nd option - they are stoopid :) it is the email ID and password they have forgotten!!!! Ah well nothing I can do to help I suppose :(

You could advise "stoopid" to create another account. It won't allow additional accounts using the same email but unique email ID's are OK and then suggest that they tie a string around their finger as a reminder.
