Hello Diamore,

I can only find two different style types with 'Clean' in the title. With these (SqueekyClean and CleanSlate), you can change the Background colour of the page to suit your needs.

To change the colour of the Content area, you would have to add some code to every page of your website (unless you have Yola Silver). It would therefore be easiest to change your site style to something more suitable.

Here is the code if you wish to add it to your website: Add everything inbetween the <!--- and --->.

<!---

<style type="text/css">

#content {
background: #FFF;

}

</style>

--->

You can change the colour to whatever you like (http://html-color-codes.com/) You could also add a background image if you like. (Just ask and I can give you the code).

You may however find that the text color may not stand out. (Do not just change the colour on everypage because some browsers can revert to ordinary CSS to keep Bandwidth to a limit for slow connections.) If you require the code for this, I can also provide this.

Hope this helps you.

Kind Regards.

Thank you for your help but i did not manage to do it.

I have the silver package
all i want is a white background and body with drop down menus

is it easier to add drop down menus to the free template "Clean slate"
or to change colors of the whole theme in the premium styles such as " clean Theme"

what would be more browser friendly too?

Appreciate your help.

Hello Diamore,

I am taking it as if you would like to have the Page Background white (instead of the gradient image that is currently there. If you would like to achieve this, add the following code to the CSS editor (make sure that the little checkbox in the corner of the CSS Editor is unchecked).

body {

line-height: 15px;

background-color:#fff;

background-image: url(templates/CleanTheme/resources/gradiant.png);

background-repeat:repeat-x;

background-position:top left;

background-attachment:;

}

This will make the page background white.

Drop down menu's can be a bit advanced and require some HTML Knowledge. Have you tried using the Submenu's feature? This would be a very good alternative and is very browser friendly as the Yola engineers have extensively tested them.

Hope these answers help, if you need anymore help please let me know...

Hi allisonruth.hall,

The problem you are having might be related to the style that you have chosen for your site. Some styles do not allow you to change the background color or image. If you would like to customize your background, you will need to select a style which does offer customized backgrounds.

If you would like to know which styles offer the option to edit the background color or image look for styles that say "Editable background: Yes" as you mouse over options in the Style Library.

If you would like to try your hand at editing your site using the Site CSS feature, upgrading to Yola Silver gives you access to this, so you'll have the ability to make these changes easily!

Let us know whether you were able to resolve this problem!
