Hello Batti,

There are several providers of website hit counters.

here are a few:
website-hit-counters.com
easycounter.com
millionhitcounters.com
free-website-hit-counters.com

There are also analytics programs that you may install which give you this data and more including which pages are being looked at, where your visitors come from, how long they stay and so on.

The two notable providers are:

Google Analytics
getclicky.com

If you would like any details on the analytics please let us know.

Good luck with your visit numbers.

I have tried using Google Analytics, found the code and copied it, but don't understand how to add it to my website. This is the information that is given:

"Copy the tracking code block into every web page that you want to track immediately before the tag.

I just want to say that these forum discussions have been very helpful.

Thanks in advance for any help.

simply drag a html widget to the bottom of your page and paste the code into that - you will see in your anaylitics account, page hit numbers start to be recorded.

Hope this helps

Just remember to add that same code to the bottom of each page you create...I saved my code in notepad then created a folder called codes to keep it handy for site building

Michelle - I'm glad it worked out.

When your making a new page the best thing to do it use 'save as' option, there is a small arrow next to the SAVE button - click this then goto 'save page as' This will make you a page with the anaylitics already attached, it will also have the banner and everyhting else you have added.

Might save you time in the future?

All the best Lee.

Nice work everyone! Thanks for helping Michelle! Lee that tip on using "save as" when you start a new page is a great idea and can save a lot of time. There are some projects underway at the moment that are going to make it possible to set certain key attributes at a site level as well as a page level. I look forward to that, but in the meantime Lee's trick is your best solution.

I am really happy because my Google analytics started to work 24 hours after adding the code.

I just spent time adding the code to all the pages on my home page without any problems. Does anyone know a simple way to add it to the linked pages? It looks like I will have to move all the linked pages back to the home menu, but hopefully someone can tell me a simplier way.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Are you asking how to add the code to your subpages? You should be able to open the page to edit it as normal and drop the HTML widget onto the page. You can access all the pages in your site by using this tab:

Does that solve your problem?

Hi Ruth,

You did answer my question correctly. I was trying to edit from the link instead of the above tab.

Thanks

Just drag the widgetbox gallery onto your webpage and you'll find a visitor counter widget! (Type in "hit counter" into the search box).
