how can i make my content (my own photos and stories) subject to copyright laws?

i do not want people to be able to use or copy them for any purposes.

Hi Holly,
On the web it's near impossible to stop people copying your content, though there are a few things you can try:

Add a watermark copyright, including your name or website to all your photos. This would mean that the copier can't claim the photo as their own, and that you easily ask someone to remove your photo if they have copied it.

For your articles, all you can do is add a "text: copyright Holly", and hope this is enough to deter them from copying.

In addition to Connor's great suggestions, here's a couple of further tips:

As the author you are automatically the copyright holder of your content. You can place a copyright symbol on your site, here is a link that will give you more information about this:
- If you are using a PC use CTRL+ALT+C
- If you are using a Mac use Option key+g

You could also publish your work under a license: Creative commons provides an easy way for you to choose a license for your work. Check out their license generator: Creative Commons
