I am building a web site for a paint shop in Germany. I was wondering if anyone can look at the site so far and make suggestion as to how i can improve it. My major challenges are making the site more available through the use of search engines, use of flash and provide the right kind of information on the page.

Im sure there are plenty of very experienced individuals here and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello newyorktrini

Traffic is the lifeblood of any website! So how can you begin to increase the traffic to your site?

**Directory Submissions:**

There are numerous directories on the Internet that accept paid and un-paid website submissions. These directories categorize websites by content type, so you will need to choose the best category for what your website provides. You'll generally be able to give your listing a title, short description and link to your website. Don't ever pay someone to "submit your website to 200 directories," this is not looked highly upon by search engines. [BestCatalog.net](http://www.bestcatalog.net/seo_tips/d...) has developed a great list along with directory page rank to get you started.

**Submitting Articles to Article Directories:**

There are many article directories on the Internet that accept unpaid submissions of articles for inclusion in their article database. What you can do is write informative articles about your niche area, submit them to these article directories, and place an Author Bio at the end with a link back to your website. When you submit your articles to an article directory you give other people permission to reprint your article in their Internet publications such as websites, newsletters, blogs etc. as long as the Author Bio is included along with the links back to your website. As people begin to read your articles and reprint them, you will begin to not only get links back to your site, but visitors as well. Here are a few good article directories to get you started: [ideamarketers.com](http://ideamarketers.com/), [ezinearticles.com](http://ezinearticles.com/) and [articlealley.com](http://articlealley.com/).

**Social Networking:**

Social networking sites include sites such as myspace.com, facebook.com and youtube.com, and that is just scratching the surface. This strategy for increasing traffic to your website can be time consuming, as the idea is to basically get "social" with other people using these sites; but the benefits to your website in terms of traffic and links can be outstanding, but staying engaged is a key factor.

**Twitter:**

Another great way to promote your site and any updates you make is through Twitter. If you have a Twitter account, you can easily Tweet any changes or updates you make when you publish! For more information on this please see this thread in our forum: Twitter Button - Tweet your new site or your latest changes!.

If you don't have a Twitter account and would like to get one to make use of this promotion tool, please go to Twitter.com and sign up for a Free account!

**Offline Marketing:**

Don't forget to add your website to your business cards, brochures and print media advertising.

Strategies which will increase traffic to your website will also play into your ranking in the search engines; it's a great cycle to get your website into... more traffic = better rankings and better rankings = more traffic!

I don't speak German but you don't really have any content on the home page or the other pages. Write a good paragraph that describes the business using the keywords you want to rank for in search engines--if possible get the keyword in three times. Do the same with the other pages.

Window titles are very important--that's the one at the top of the browser. You can change it in Yola by going to the Properties tab on the right side of the sitebuilder. Put your keywords in the window title but don't over do it. You would benefit greatly by getting in Google's local business center. Be sure and put your location in the window title.

Make sure your images have alt tags.

Flash will not help you with search engines. If you'd like a little movement on the page, a simple slideshow of the car pictures might be nice and search engines will like it better--find one at http://www.yolacodes.yolasite.com Also, yola has some good tutorials on SEO.

I've think you've done a good job with the site. I do find the white in the banner a bit glaring with the background--perhaps if you made the white more of an off white or cream color? There also seems to be too much black under the banner. Hope this helps!
