How can I replace my Index page with another page?

I had created a new home page, just to play around with the design and content and see which one I liked better. I decided to use the new page as my Home page, but it wouldn't let me delete the old one. I got a pop up message saying that index pages cannot be deleted. I tried changing the name of my new home page to "Index" but it said there's already a page with that name and wouldn't make the change.

How can I make the new homepage my index page and delete the old index?

Regards,
Reem

You can't change your Index Page to another page, but you can swich the Name of your page...
1.Have your Web-Builder open
2.Select "Edit Navigation" at the top of the Web-Builder
3. Click "settings"of your Index Page
4. Change the "NavigationText" to what you want it to be
5.Change the "Navigation Text" of the page you want to be your home page to "Home" ect.
6. Change the order of you pages by dragging the boxes around to the order you want

Hope this helps,
Drummer

Hi Reem,
If you want to use one of your exisitng pages as your index page do the following.
1.Go to the page you want to use as the index page.
2.Click save page as.
3.save the page as index

This will replace your current index page.
If you want to keep your current index page do the above but give it a name such as oldindex.

Hope this helps

Hello rshafaki

It would appear that you're trying to give your new page a same name that is already existing in your list of pages. Normally, you would be able to overwrite the page but unfortunately, a bug has cropped up where you are not able to do this. We apologize for this.

Usually, we can offer a workaround but as the index page cannot be deleted, this means overwriting your index page is not possible right now.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes.. it it's your index page, you will need to recreate the whole page. But, you can still save your index page as a different page if you wish.
Simply use a new name for the "Save page as" dialog box.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work on resolving this bug.

No worries, John Mc! If this bug didn't exist, then your answer would have been spot-on!

As for your sites not deleting, unfortunately, the bugs have crawled out from underneath the rock. This is another one that we have discovered as well.

We are currently experiencing a bug where an error opens if you try to delete a published site. If you unpublish your site, you will be able to delete it. To unpublish your site:

1. Click on the down-arrow next to the "Publish to the web" button.
2. Click on "Publishing settings".
3. Click on "Unpublish your Site".
4. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to unpublish your site. Click on "OK" and your site will be unpublished.

Thanks for your patience as we get our Raid out and kill those nasty bugs :)
