Here are my two websites -

http://jtylersarticles.org - I write articles on a variety of different topics and publish them here. I also offer services on the side (re-writing other articles for money and hosting other's articles).

http://games.jtylersarticles.org - I publish online games here and offer opportunities for those who wish to publish with me.

Can someone take a look at them and tell me what I can do to improve with SEO and improve in general? Thanks.

Hi admin,

There is an excellent collection of SEO articles geared for but not only Yola websites. If you can compare your site to the recommendations and suggestions here plus have a look at your Google Webmasters Central then I think you will really see your strengths and things to learn about effective SEO.

I will have a look at your sites later and get back to you if you would like me to.

Re: http://jtylersarticles.org

Should have direct access to all sections (menu items see below) of your site.

Use breadcrumbs with this site as the navigation is multi-levelled.

It's very well written with no spelling errors. That is a big plus for a professional presentation.

I wouldn't use the phrase "under construction" that is presumed; just say "more {genre} to follow".

Minimize the impact on viewers eyes of your social site buttons. These are well known so don't need highlighting anymore than the designers of these have already done.

Donate button down the end of sections because it can be annoying to viewers before they have read your content to confront them with a "donate" prompt.

Mailing list I would put as a link on appropriate pages rather than as a menu item.

Consider your offer to publish works as part of your blog. Blogs are for readers, they tend to find the relevant information.

It would be of benefit to reduce your menu and group the contents into sections. Use custom sub-menus for sub-section content. There's no hard and fast rule but if you can keep your primary menu to approximately 8 headings then this is very manageable and comfortable for most people.

You are obviously gifted with intelligence and your diversity of interests comes through. It's really good to see that. I think that as your site becomes known and you develop a following you will probably see the interest becoming narrower. This is when you can re-furbish and start splitting your site into separate works.

Your site look works well; it has a relaxed feel and allows your readers to really focus on your content.

The most important aspect with SEO is content and you certainly have that. The content should be fresh and interesting and Google will determine if it's fresh or not, searches determine if the content is of interest along with visitors votes by time on your site and things like +1. Recognition takes time and you just have to be patient for that.

If you haven't already done this then please add your site to Google Search and Bing search engines.
