I like the Yola themes, but I'd like to experiment with HTML themes too... How do I use them with Yola?

Hi Ally,

You can't use themes other than those that Yola offer. External themes just won't work.

You can't get to the head of the document to really get to the layout aspects but you can modify the style elements within with CSS. You can't change the HTML of the style template.

Thank you!! I don't know how to write CSS.. Is there a best website that I could use to change the style? My biggest complaint is that my menu font/color is small and gray.. I've tried every color and no background color helps it to be easier seen. Is there CSS writing I can use for that?
(www.franciskennels.com is my site)

Hello Ally,

You can change the colour of the menu font. If you can tell me the colour you wish then I can give you the appropriate code.

You're best to choose from a colour wheel or colour table of associated codes. A good site which gives you codes ideas and colour contrasts is: Colors On the Web. It's a good resource for colours as such on website design.

The font size can also be increased so if you give me an idea of how much of an increase you feel would be good, I'll add that to the code and post it back. Once you see the code I think you will be comfortable making any adjustments yourself.

Awesome! Well. I don't need anything too special, I would like the normal menu font in white, along with a larger size, and then when you're on a page that you've clicked on, I would like the color to probably be black so it's easier to see.

Hello Aly,

I'm presuming that you have Yola Silver subscription(?)
If so then add this code to your CSS over-rides

div.ys_nav ul li.selected a {
color: #FFFFFF;
font-weight: bold;
}

div.ys_nav ul li a {
color: #FFFFFF;
display: inline-block;
font-size: 18px;
padding: 7px 14px 6px;
text-decoration: none;
}

div.ys_nav ul li a:visited {
color: #000000;
}

Let me know if you want any clarification or further enhancement.

That's PERFECT! Thank you! Is there anyway to make a footer that appears on every page?

Yes there is Ally,
Site>Site Settings>Tracking>Site Tracking Code>Footer Code

This should be tried out on a test site first. If you leave off tags etc then it can break your site.
