How can I write in XHTML in the blog manager?

I have linked my blog to RSS Graffiti on Facebook but pictures do not appear with the story when an article is posted on facebook. I was told by an employee of Rss graffiti that this is because "in the HTML of your posts, the img tags are not formatted according to valid XHTML". i.e my img tags must be closed:
<img src="whatever.jpg" />
unfortunately when I edit an article on the blog, and click on HTML in the editor and try to change the code by adding the / , it automatically disappears when I hit save... I know that most of the time this "autocorrect" feature is really useful for correcting html codes, but is there a way for me to write in XHTML without getting corrected?? If not, plz allow us to close our tags, that is not incorrect coding! :P

Thank you once again :)

Hi Joe,

You are correct, this is a limitation with the existing text editor in our blog. It is not currently possible to write in XHTML in the blog manager.

We have logged this as a feature request for our engineers but one of the issues to consider in regards to upgrading the text editor is that changing or replacing it could make existing content reformat in unwanted ways.

One thing to consider in the meantime is using our Tumblr blog widget.
