Tweets are tiny and it's probably this aspect that makes it so effective. It's a glance with a power packed message. It doesn't take time to read and successful users have worked out the punch words or if you like, the key words to include. This is designed at grabbing readers attention. It's their attention that hopefully will bring them onto your site or to your posting.

Twitter can label you as an entity and associated with a brand. Great for business.
Interesting Tweets can stimulate feedback. Ask for advice if needed and you're likely to get responses.
Forming friendships with commonly interested people and forging alliances.
Satisfied customers Tweeting your product are inavaluble and are doing great work for you.
Have a look at and see how well John uses Twitter to keep his clients informed of products and relevant info including shipment dates and specials.
Not only is Twitter designed to alert the masses it works extremely efficiently for both your self and the one to one client. Very much like an SMS but with a resourceful information link associated.
Twitter is less likely to be felt as spam or intrusive as it twitters in the background and is a pleasant cacophony of soothing activity for the business person.
