Hi Brianne,

As far as I am aware, this is not possible. This is because to open a document you need a 'plug in'. There is not a plugin for Microsoft Word yet.

One option available to you is to Export the file(s) as .pdf file extension. This is possible direct from Office 2010 or you can download software like Nitro PDF (it is free). Nitro PDF allows you to print files to pdf files, which can then be uploaded to Yola and people can view them without downloading.

Hope this helps,

If you need any more assistance, I am here...

Hello Brianne

I have just responded to you via email in support with another suggestion. If Andi's options do not work out for you, then you can try using to embed your document onto your site.

I hope that helps!

Hello arronlee

I'm not experienced with the MS Word Document Viewer, but I have another option for you:

You can embed your Word document into your Yola site, but you will need to do some HTML and a bit of a workaround.

If you do not already have a Google account, you will need to set one up so that you can access Google Docs. Then follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Google Docs account.

  2. Upload your existing Word document to Google Docs. You will find the "Upload..." button just underneath the Google Docs logo on the top left of your screen.

  3. Once your document is uploaded, click on the name to open it as a Google Doc.

  4. Click on the down-arrow on the "Share" button (top right) and select "Publish as web page". This will generate a web address (URL) that is the published version of your site on the web.

  5. Copy this URL, as you will need to add it to your Yola site inside an iFrame.

  6. Go back to your Yola site and add an HTML Widget to your page where you would like the document to display. You will find the HTML Widget by going to Widgets > Popular.

  7. Paste the following code into the HTML editor that opens up:
    <iframe src ="" width="100%" height="300">
    <p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p>

  8. Replace "" with the URL of your Google Doc.

  9. Click OK to save the HTML code. You will see the iFrame appear on your page, with the Google Doc displayed.

  10. Click "Save" to save your page.

If you would like to remove the border from your iFrame, you can do so, using the following code:
<iframe src ="" width="100%" height="300" frameborder="0">

<p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p>
