Hi Peter,

I can see that you've added the pictures as thumbnails which link to larger version of the picture. The larger pic looks like it's the maximum size that will fit on the style you've chosen.

Perhaps an alternative is to allow visitors to your site to download the picture and open it on their PC's so that they can then view it at any size they like.

If anyone else has any suggestions, feel free to jump in!

PS. you've got amazing paintings Peter!

I've been on this one most of the day in my free time... I will get a few options to him within the day ;)

As he has a professional site with simply stunning artwork I can't simply grab any old magnifier... It needs to look the part and showcase his work. Finding one that will work well with Synthasites system is proving an interesting battle.

I will get this one I have in mind to work with the system or kick myself to sleep... lol

Hi Marije,

(time to big you up!!)

I came across Synthasite by chance at just the right time, I cant belive that a site like this is out there!. I have a love hate kind of relationship with my laptop and all things binary, or for that matter HTML'y (don't think that's a word hehe) BUT, and that was a big BUT! you, and the site have restored my faith in electronic media and people. I gotta say you think my paintings are amazing (thankyou for that) I think Synthasite and the people that run it are amazing.
I was able to tell a client yesterday that I had a website displaying some of my work, he loved it, and I was able to bask in the glory! I havn't had a 'bask' in a while, well not in glory anyway! chuckle!

I cant wait to see what you come up with for my little problem, thanks again for your help.

Pete

You are truly talented Peter and your site looks brilliant.
I think the black background shows of the paintings nicely.

I'm thinking you should leave it as it is.
Your pictures don't take a long time to load and the detail looks good.
Not bragging, but I've got a 27" LCD 1360 x 768 resolution monitor I'm veiwing
your site on, so I see your paintings pretty blown up. What I'm trying to say is
that the pictures should look worse on my screen compared to say a 17" or
19" monitor with 1024x768 resolution which is more common.

Love the 2003 rugby world cup painting. I'm sure it must be worth
a small fortune but as you say " Its not for sale"
We have the Webb Ellis trophy now, so you guys better pull up
your socks if you want it back. LOL

P.S While I was typing this I noticed Ed was still up.
Lets see what he comes up with - he's always got good ideas.

for $20 US this UK based company is the bomb... It doesn't bounce around and loads real quick. There are countless multimillion dollar companies that use this program on their own websites. For 15 Pounds it's real cheap too...

There are many free ones out there but I found them all to have issues in one way or another. You get what you pay for my dad used to say...

Peter if you like it I will give you the link and the code

Peter

I spent hours working on getting it right and as my images were not very large if you used a high quality image the resolution on the magnifier will be fabulous...

If you gave me the URL's of one medium sized and one super sized image I can show you what it looks like with your image.

Sorry I was a little off on the US price

15 to 25 pounds or 27 to 45 US dollars depending on the product you need is still pretty awesome for such a smooth to use and implement product.

My personal fav is Magic Magnify but they all are great and I can see many aplications.

I am actually excited about a product can you tell...

He he he

I do like the way this magnifier works, but I had an idea!!! I'm ex military and one of the many things drummed into me was "keep it simple stupid" and being stupid i was able to do exactly that! hehe I figured visitors don't need to see the whole painting in detail, just a section will do, i have adjusted the site, have a look and let me know if it comes across as clumsy, if it is I will give magic magnify a go, but can you adjust the size of the view window????
Thanks once again for your help, i have put a link to Synthasite on page one, and I have already started spreading the good word!!!

gotta go, work is gettin in the way of my pass time! tsk tsk!!! LOL

Hi Peter, the way you've done also looks good - I guess you have to decide which one suits you best. Thanks for the link to us on your homepage!
