Hi SamuraiStony,

This is how to add an RSS widget to your site:
1. Open the widgets folder on the sidebar to your right
2. Drag and drop the "RSS feed" widget onto your page
3. Click on "edit" on the green widget tool bar
4. In the properties sidebar click on "edit your link"
5. A link editor will open up. You need to replace the default URL with a URL of a feed that you want. For example, pasting the following URL will create a Yahoo! News RSS feed: http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories
6. When you are done click "OK" in the link editor and then click "apply" in the properties side bar.

An RSS feed with automatically updated links on the subject of your choice will be added to your site.

Alternatively, you can easily add an RSS feed to your site with a widget from our Widgetbox Gallery, this is how:
1. Drag and drop a Widgetbox Gallery widget onto your page
2. A dialogue box will open, search for 'RSS' to see all the widgets available
3. Choose the RSS feed you would like to use on your site
4. Edit your settings to customise your widget
5. Click on the green 'Get Widget' button and it will be saved and added to your page
6. Save and preview your page to view the widget!

If you would like to create your own RSS manually - please click here to view a short tutorial - Creating an RSS feed for your site - http://tipsandtricks.synthasite.com/R...)

I followed the directions at the "tips and tricks" site but when I click on the RSS link on my website (linked to an xml file in my Yola sites resources/rss.xml) it responds with a dialogue box to open, save or close. When I click on open nothing happens?

Hi Scott - could you post a link to the page where you've added the RSS Feed so that we can take a look?

The strange part is I've added the above link to an rss reader (yahoo) and it seems to work but I'm not sure users would know to copy the link if nothing shows in the window when you click on it.

thanks

Hey Scott (posting down here so that I can add a screenshot),

Depending on the browser people are using, they will be able to subscribe from that page. If they're using something Google Reader, then they can add it to their subscriptions.

Maybe I need to clarify - I have a link on my homepage that points at the rss file which is located on my yola site "resources". When you click on the link a dialogue box comes up asking the user to save, open or close. Save will then download the rss file on to your computer - not what I want. Open - appears to open the rss file but nothing appears in the browser window - the link address does appear in the address field. Shouldn't it open my rss file in the browser? BTW - thank you very much for your help, I'm new to this stuff and I appreciate your patience.

IE6! That probably is the problem and would suggest you upgrade (we all recommend Firefox by the way :)

I've added an rss feed to my mortgage refinance low rate site, but it doesn't seem to be working right?
