I just built my site, dustysstethoscopes, and registered my domain, which had the www in front of it and when registered it only shows up as http://dustysstethoscopes.com. In the set up area under my yola there is a button to click on that says: add www prefix. I have clicked this option and rechecked my site and republished and rechecked over and over and it is still without the "www's" What am I doing wrong??? I have business cards printed up with the www in the address and when I type in the site with the www, it does not come up. I want the www's!

Hello Denise,
I undersatnd what you are saying and would also presume that what you have done would ensure that the www. appears automatically. I'm wondering if this is an oversight on the Yola system? I hope they can fix this for you.

From a practical point of view and this is simply an opinion, it really doesn't matter very much. The www is redundant in addressing your URL or website and is a carry-over convention from a long time ago.

You have mentioned that you have published business cards with this included. I think that is really good as it automatically reinforces the fact that you have a website. If people type the full url with the upper level domain of www then they will still come to you website. Many people totday don't bother typing in the www and expect that they will and they do arrive at the correct site.

Hello Denise,

You can choose if you wish to have a www or a non-www for your domain. Please go to your "My Yola" page. Click on "Advanced Settings" next to your site. Scroll down and you should see a display option. Select which display you'd like to have for your domain.

I hope that helps!
