Hey Michael,

You can't upload wordpress to Yola

Yola has its own blogs.
Just click 'Create new page' and select 'Blog Page'.

To use wordpress you have to purchase hosting from a hosting provider.
E.g Mainwebs, Bravenet etc

Hope this helps.

Hi Michael

As John mentioned, you can create your own blog on your site.

If you already have a blog at Wordpress, you can link to it from a menu button on your Yola site. This means that you do not have to download your blog and upload it to Yola.

We have a tutorial that explains how to link to an external site from your menu, here: Links that redirect when you click on menu tab.

I hope this works for you. Let us know if you need more help.

Thank you for helping out, John! :)

Happy Sitebuilding

Hi Nazlie... i'm very new to this site building... just want to confirm, this method does NOT open a new browsing window to open the url to my blog, correct? It just uses the same browsing window and points to another url?
thx!

Hi mml177
Yes, that's correct. It does not open up a new browser window or tab. It redirects to the new URL in the same window.

Hi Michael,

It is possible to create a link that will open in a new tab or window. This would need to happen on a text link, though. Not in your navigation menu unless you have created a customized navigation menu. Here is how:

For text links:

1. Add text using the Text Widget.
2. Select the text that you want the link and then click the "Link" button on the Text Editing Toolbar.
3. Create your link to your chosen URL as normal, click "OK".
4. Then click the "HTML" button - the last button on the Text Editing Toolbar.
5. You will see the code that looks like this for your link (I have used the text "Visit Wikipedia to see more information", with the link being on Wikipedia:
Visit --->a href="http://www.wikipedia.org" /aa href="http://www.wikipedia.org" target="blank" /a<-- to see more information

Your link will then open in a new tab or window, depending on what browser your visitor is using.

Please let me know if you need further assistance!

Hi Michael,
You are able to create a custom navigation menu by utilizing the text widget on a body section of your site. We will be offering drop down menus and custom CSS with Yola Silver in the very near future.
Cheers!
