how do I load a domain brought elsewhere? I work in New Zealand and want to use Yola for some of my more basic web sites because it's quick easy and cost effective but I can't seem to buy or load .co.nz domains I need this as most of my clients are local and .com don't show on the NZ Google search as well. I don't mind buying them from another provider so long as i can upload them to yola I would rather not just point the site as it doesn't look as professional now that I have paid to have account upgraded I shouldn't have to. - Please Help Thank you. -Alax

Hi Alax,

At this time we do not sell .co.nz domains, nor can we accept them in a transfer. Since you have upgraded, you are certainly welcome to configure an externally purchased domain to Yola's IP address. I do understand that you are not to keen on this, however, it is the only way to get the results you are seeking.

Here is a tutorial that will share a bit more information and assist you with this process: Publish to a domain you already own.

Certainly let us know if you need further clarification or assistance, Alax!

Thank you for this,

I would recommended yola as a business partner with a domain company or become one theme-selfs that can sell these I am planning on producing at least 1 new site per month along with facebook pages that will be integrated into the yola pages almost all of these sites will need .co.nz domains, I am aware from posts on your facebook page I am not the only person looking for this, so effectively turning down or giving away money depending on how you want to look at it.

Also I noticed that my "free" domain that came with my upgrade seems to only point to my yola site rather then replacing the yolasite.com/whateverpage link in the address bar. For example my sites should now say http://optimumpromo/index.html or something like that how can I change it to do this please?

Hi Alax,

Our Product and Business Development team are constantly evaluating the need for adding new ccTLD options so we have happily shared your suggestion with them. We do plan to continue to expand in that area, so hopefully we will be able to service your needs in the future.

Per your last point, I believe you are referring to making your custom domain, your primary domain.

If that's correct, here's how to change the primary domain used on your site:

1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Yola" page.
2. Click on "Advanced Settings" next to the relevant site.
3. You will be directed to a page where you can choose your primary domain.

This will be the canonical (primary) domain and the one the other domains will redirect to.

Yes thank you for that, well as long as we're moving forward then I'm happy but the sooner the better. Please let me know when there is a time line set for rolling out the new options.

Thank you very much for your help.
