I have been spending hours trying to do this. Please help. At this point I just want to know if it is possible with Yola and if so how to do it.

I have an affiliate website at www.shoptherage.com that I'm working on and want to create a custom "You are being redirected now" page similar to this " http://www.shoptherage.com/redirectin... ". How do I get it to open a new window to this page first before it goes to the affiliates website?

Hope this makes sense. Could be a simple answer, but I just can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Love Yola!!

Hello AmyP

Yes.. you can create a redirect page but it will take a little HTML to do this.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Create a new page with the name of the site you want to link to.
2. Drag and drop a HTML widget onto your page.
3. Paste this tag into the HTML editor:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=http://webdesign.about.com">

"2" is how many seconds it waits before it redirects - you can change this number.
"url" is the URL it redirects to, so, replace the URL in the above tag with the one for the site you want to link to.

4. Drag over a text widget and type your redirect message.
5. Save and update your site.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

I tried this and it automatically refreshes it to the new website within the Yola frame and then freezes that page so I have to delete the page in order to go into any other of my pages to edit. When I did that earlier I thought I really messed up something but after I deleted the page it was fine. I want to do it for each any every redirect to a new website. Thanks for the help.

Hi Amy

Yes.. it does refresh in your site builder. My apologies for neglecting to mention this. What you can do is as your page is loading up, you should be able to select a different page to edit and you will remain in your site builder. If you're finding you're not having enough time to navigate, you can increase the seconds. Then, when you have finished editing your website, you can decrease the number of seconds again.

You can also go to a particular page from your "my sites" page. You'll see beside your site icon, a list of pages you have recently opened. Click on one of the pages that you want to edit and you should be able to resume editing.

I hope this makes sense!

I only want it to redirect when a visitor to my website clicks on an external link from my website. For example, if you were to click on a product from my page it would then redirect you first to a "You are being redirected" page, then off to the affiliate's website.

Not sure if Yola has the ability to do this. Thanks! Amy

Well, provide a link from your product to the redirect page, then the redirect page will redirect to the affiliate's site.

Product A
Product B

Product A and Product B will have a page titled Product A and Product B... on this page titled Product A will have your redirect message and redirect code. The redirect code will redirect to Product A and Product B.

Does this make sense?

That's awesome. Thank you. I don't know why, but I just couldn't wrap my mind around that. It totally works. Thanks for helping me out. Kinda crazy to think that I need to make each item/product it's own redirect page. One more thing though, this could be on my end too. It is taking a long time to save the redirect page within Yola once it redirects to the other site. Is this something that would normally take time for Yola or do you think the problem is on my end? I do think this is really important for an affiliate site as you never want a customer looking at a blank page. Thank you soooo much.
