It's able to be done.

If you have used the Yola background facility to replace the default with another you may need to review this and replace it with the HTML following.

Add this HTML to your page:
<a href="http://my-site.com/page" title="whatever you want it to be" id="background-image">Anything you wish as a link phrase</a>
You need this to apply the Style. The title could be removed as it's redundant I think for a web-page.

Your CSS:

#background-image {
Background-image: url(resources/image-name.jpg);
display block
height:900 px;
text-indent:-9999px;
width: 1440 px;

The text indent above will move the link phrase off the page never to be seen.

You can't edit the global HTML. This isn't accessible in Yola built sites.

Can you try changing #background-image to #sys_background and the HTML id to sys_background. It's a long shot.
