I like my layout design and do not want to change it but the only problem is the banner box is huge! Is there a way i can make it smaller? If not then i'll just deal with it.

Hi jamesisdusk,

There possibly is a way to do this but it is likely to be style dependent. So the solution may need to be customised. Just placing a new banner in place of the old will possibly leave you with a huge gaping margin and it may not be ideally aligned, so this has to be modified if it can be.
if you can publish your site name here, am happy to have a look.

Hello James

Yes, you can definitely resize your banner area if you work with a little CSS coding.

Here are the steps:
  1. In the blue menu bar of the Sitebuilder, click on Style and choose Edit Custom CSS.

  2. On the right-hand side box, click on the Site CSS tab and search for this part:
    #sys_banner {    height: 326px;

    }
    (the pixel amount may differ depending on the Style you use)

  3. Copy this part and paste it to the Site CSS Overrides box on the left hand side.

  4. Now you can edit the amount of pixels for the height of your banner. If you replace the number by a lower one, it will shrink your banner area.

  5. Preview by clicking on the Preview tab on the right.

  6. Click on OK to save your changes.

I've just used the sys_banner override to reduce the size of the banner itself, but I'm now left with a massive gap between the bottom of the banner and my content.

How can I get rid of this gap?

Thanks

Hi Graham,

If you can tell me your site name I can have a look at this with Firebug and give you the code to remove the place-holder for the banner.

You would need to publish your site for me to examine the layout as it stands.

I can't publish the site with the smaller banner as I'm completely redesigning it and its nowhere near finished!

Thanks!

OK. Sorry I understand.

It's not possible for me to do this without my clear understanding of which elements need to be identified and changed.

Hello Graham

Please add this code as the third code override to your CSS Editor:
div.ys_banner_wrap {

height:200px;
}

Adjust the value for the height as desired. Hope this helps!
