So, I prefer not to use a template because I feel I have more freedom to customize my site without one... however I dont know how to change the allowable banner size.

Is there some code I can adjust into to adjust my allowable banner size? Thanks for the help.. -Rob

Hi Rob,

If you are using a style that has a default banner image, it cannot be edited in terms of size and layout.

Perhaps an option would be to use one of the blank styles? They are NoFrills and SqueakyClean. You can add an image and edit the margins to push it further up the page (margins are in the Properties tab).

I hope that helps!

CleanSlate is a blank style, but I think it does have a banner image. The two blank styles I'm referring to are called "NoFrills" and "SqueakyClean". There isn't a style called "blank style".

ahh, i think i get it, you use negative margins, ie -200 and then it move the image up high so it looks like a banner. But then it covers up my menu buttons, so I may have to do those manually or use a template that has them at the top or in a better place that will fit with my "banner" image. The only problem is that it looks proper in Chrome, but in Fire Fox its not accepting the new margins... any advice? Here is the link to the page: http://www.reptileparty.com/test-page...

That behaviour does look a bit weird - I'm sure it used to work. We'll have to take another look on our side and get it fixed if it's a bug...
