I already have a domain name and a free Yola website hosted by someone else. Can I transfer everything to Yola and how much will it cost. (I see there's a partial answer to this but it's 4 years old so maybe I could have some current information). Thanks

Hello Maggie,

To use a custom domain you need to purchase a hosting plan; Bronze, Silver or Gold. See the monthly pricing here

Once you have this then you can either transfer your domain to Yola which has a years registration to be paid up-front irrespective of the subscription renewal date, the balance can be recouped in the second year of subscription in effect. The subscription fee is in the order of $12 per year and may vary depending on the type of domain. You have another choice and that is to keep your domain with your original registrar and simply point it to Yola's servers and there are instructions for doing this: Publishing to a Domain you already own. There is no fee associated with this process if you have a hosting plan which is needed for this to work.

You mention that you have a free Yola website hosted by someone else and I'm interpreting that as meaning another person has allowed you to build a Yola site on their account? if you wish to transfer this to a new account then this would be a special consideration by Yola.

Hello Maggie

Adding on Gop:

We'd be very pleased if you transfer your domain to Yola, however, you can currently only transfer .com, .net, .biz, and .org domains to us. If you want to use a domain with a different extension, you will be able to use the Pointing option which Gop indicated above.

If you could explain again what you mean by "Yola website hosted by someone else", we will be happy to help you with this part of your question as well.
