How do I underline and change font color of certain text with the changes Yola has made?

With the new text changes I can't see how to easily just underline a word or change the font color of a word. I clicked on Text Old but the new tool bar still popped up with no option to do this. Can anyone help me?

Hello Katie,

To do this you need to disable the Style Designer. Be careful though if you have already edited or added some text with the Style Designer active as this action will revert the changes already made. This then allows you to do inline formatting etc with the old text editor.

You also need an older subscription as new subscriptions don't have the old text editor ability.

Do you know how to disable it? I have no idea. I have been a member for several years so I am assuming I have an old subscription. So there is no way to ever just underline a word now without disabling the new items they added? That seems wacky!

Page → Page Properties.

The Style Designer if active appears on the left hand side. Click on the switch icon next to the Style Designer title to disable it. Once disabled it will remain so until explicitly activated again by you.

I know what you mean and it is not on the left side. The problem is that the toolbar has changed and there is no underline option or an option to change the color of the font. I need to know how to get those options back!

Katie,

If you can see the "Text(old)" widget you then can drag that onto your page. It will display a text box but at this stage there will not be any controls appearing. To do that you need to place your cursor in the box and click. Then all will be revealed.

If you already have some text within the box then make sure you click your cursor somewhere within the txt

I don't see the benefit of the new Style Designer for formatting text. It seems there's no way to change font/size of JUST selected portions of text.

That's correct as it stands unless you have an old subscription which allows you to use the older text editing facility. We've been told that there are updates for the Style Designer in development.

The approach has been to standardise the text used in sections and paragraphs etc rather than by sentence or word. A number of people have asked for additional flexibility.

'A number of people have asked for additional flexibility.' Gop, you can say that again! Luckily, I have an old subscription so can still use the old text editor but I would not recommend Yola now to anyone. The robotic standardization imposed by the new Text Editor makes it impossible to design a site except with the most moronic and minimalist aesthetics. And I speak as a one-time Yola advocate :(
