Hello Steven,

There are two Blog facilities within Yola.
The Yola built system and the Yola partnered system with Tumblr.

The Yola built system is a closed system at this time. The blog can be created as a specific page type and then content can be added as individual posts only by the site owner. there is no ability for guests to add posts directly. They can however use a commentary system to make comments on the posts generally through another addon, Disqus. Disqus is a quality system itself and is used extensively throughout the web for this and other purposes. There is a large reference section on creating blogs with this facility and methods to use it in the Tutorials section: Adding and Editing Content: 1. Blogging on Yola.

Tumblr is the proprietary system of the owners of Tumblr. It is used within Yola by bringing in a widget then it is seamlessly used as it is as a standalone.

You can bring in other Blog systems to display and be accessible from your Yola site by the use of iframes and this has worked for a number of users who have included their WP and Blogger sites.

The addition of bookmarking widgets, like AddThis and social gizmos depends on the blog system used. These aren't used for adding content but rather for drawing a readership.
