How many additional domain names can be aimed at a Synthasite site?

I was wondering if it were possible to do the 'add your own domain' under 'publishing settings' in synthasite for a SECOND domain name. I signed up for the same domain name, but ending in .net and it appears I can only add one domain name under 'publishing settings.' Thus, the .com domain name works fine, but the .net domain name will continue to link to the synthasite homepage unless I am able to do the same thing you advised before for the .com one.

This question is from my sister, who is unable to post it right now. I'll see that she gets the answer.

Thanks!

Hi Bengo

We don't allow you to have domains for the same created site - the reason is that search engines will penalize you for duplicated content.

I suggest that your sister configure's her other domain name to forward to the main site. It is best practice to only have one domain name for a primary site, and forward/redirect other domains to that site.

Hope this helps.

I really don't want to open a new topic for my question and so I will use this existing one for my inquiry (even though, the question is different, yet, this was the closest topic I did find).

I am already a YOLA customer and I bought a domain. My wife would now like to start her own new website (entirely independent from my one).

Should she just register with you guys as a new customer, or does it make more sense (if that's possible at all) that she will be added to my account?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Tony,

It depends... If you have for example paid for the footer removal or a premium style then by having her in the same account you will both beable to use these paid for features.

However i would suggest just starting a new account, much easier, and if your both signed into the same account on the same network you may encounter problems.

For me, i would say 2 seperate accounts is the best way to go.
