Hi kreative,

There isn't a limit to the amount of keywords, but perhaps the info on this link will help answer your question: http://www.google.com/search?q=too+ma...

Remember that you should only add keywords that apply to the content of the page.

You can find more info on adding keywords to your site on our SEO tutorials: www.yola.com/tutorials

lol smithy. My subdomain has been indexed for about 6 months now and I can type in any keyword on my site and nothing shows within the first ten pages of google. But I still get found by search engine results. Until recently I've had one word keywords on my site, I've done some research and came up with MANY different sources that indicated one word keywords will get you placed lower on the search engines than one or two "two to four word" keyphrases per page. Avoid using more than 8 total words (two- four word keyphrases) per page because more than 8 words in your keyword section is considered keyword flooding. Like I said, MORE sources say this, then indicate one word keywords are best.

if you type in perfume in google search you have about 48,900,00 listed
if you do cars you will have about 483,000,000

if you have one of these two keywords it would take some time to find yourself if even listed.

Google will find you keyword when your site is crawl.
If you have google webmaster tool and code on your site you can see what keywords googles found when they crawl your site.
You can find these keywords under "your site on the web" section then under keywords.

that's for if your site was found using a google search. Not keywords in general.

I prefer to find out how my site was found by getclicky. Getclicky is very precise and accurate when it comes to how your site was found. If someone searched in google and the words human chest ... it'll say Google ... Human Chest --- then it'll have an arrow that will let you go to the exact list your site was on when you were found.

Google will de-rank you if you have too many... they consider it to be "keyword flooding".

The best suggestion I can suggest is to use two to four keyphrases "a group of words that make sense together" and no commas between each word. You can use up to two kephrases for best results. Any more is considered keyword flooding... try to avoid one word keywords at all costs.
