  1. Open your website in your Yola Sitebuilder, and go to the page where you have added your Yola Online Store Widget.

  2. Drag and drop an HTML Widget above your Yola Online Store Widget.

  3. Add this code to the editor of your HTML Widget:
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?53022'></script>

    <script type='text/javascript'> xSearchPanel(); </script>

  4. In this code you can see the number 53022 which is the Store ID. Replace this number by your own Store ID. You can find your Store ID in the bottom left corner of your Online Store Widget or on the Online Store page of your My Yola.

You can arrange the search box according to your needs. You may want to add some text in front of it. Here is an example of which widgets to use and how to position them in order to achieve this:

Your customers will now be able to search your products. Once the results are shown, your customers can also choose how to sort the results:

This search box is not a Google feature, but works for the products specific to your Yola Online Store.

Just stumbled onto this while searching for a good html text editor for my product descriptions. I'm having newline issues and background not being transparent sometimes.

That's not why I'm replying however...

This is an AWESOME post. I thank you very much as I haven't seen man Yola store add-ons that are as good as this one. Definitely adds more professionalism to the store. I'll give it a try soon as it looks really easy.

Thank you Yola!

Hello Mike

Thank you for your nice feedback! I'm excited that you will try to add this feature to your Yola Online Store.

If you'd like to get help with what you mentioned at the beginning of your post, you're welcome to open a new thread and ask your question to the Yola community!

A small update: You can now find your Store ID only in the bottom left corner of your Online Store Widget.

Add search to store???.

How can I add a search bar to my store? When I try to add a google bar, it only returns results for blog posts not items for sale. Thanks!

Is it possible to ensure the search results are for that website store only?  I'm about to set up a separate website in my Yola Gold account that also has a online store but with totally different products.

Many thanks

The search box will be able to search all products of the same Online Store. If the Online Store you put on another website is in the same Yola account, it won't be possible to separate the search results. This is because it's physically not a separate online store, you just put another Online Store Widget on another website. However, if you have another Yola account with Online Store, it will be a separate store and the search box will only be able to search that online store.
