I just finished and published my first Yola site. Can anyone tell me how to check if my pages have been indexed by google yet. I remember seeing a link but cant remember where or how. I have not yet submitted a site map yet. Can I assume this is a must do. I currently have a google add words account. Should I not pay for any google adds or key word searches until I know all pages are indexed or will this help speed up the process. If any more experienced users would like to make suggestions ,I could send a link Thanks in advance

Hello Shannon,

You can check to see how many of your pages are listed in the search engine index by going to the search box and typing in this command: (substituting your domain for

This will give you a listing of the pages that are in the index.

Verifying your site with Google Webmaster and submitting a sitemap are great things to do. Here is a link to our tutorial which will step you through both of these processes: Google Webmaster Tutorial.

I would also suggest that you take a look at our short series of SEO Tutorials and our Introduction to SEO webinar.

I cannot say that running a Google AdWords account will speed up the indexing process. I would say that before you run an AdWords campaign that you take some time reading through the AdWords Learning Center lessons as this will be very helpful in running a successful campaign.

Hope this helps!
