Hello,
I see that you have your domain name through the GBBO program. Yola Mail is not available for this program, but you can sign up with Google Apps for customized email.

Google Apps allows you to verify your domain using a few different methods. Yola has some helpful instructions as well as a specific directions on how to add the TXT Record to your DNS settings:

1. Log into your Google Apps account.
2. On the "Seup" page, click on "Verify Domain Ownership" and then click "Next" to begin.
3. On the next page, select the tab called "Alternate methods".
4. Select "Add a DNS record to your domain's configuration", and from the drop-down box select "Other".
5. This will generate the TXT record needed, it will look something like this:
google-site-verification=3gx2xVdwXE6QxTqQWNVfv7zOpWvEjGhMPeLbACv16yQ.
6. Select the TXT record, right-click and copy it.
7. Log into your Yola account and make sure you are on the My Yola page.
8. Click on "Domains" and, next to the domain you are using for your email address, click on "Advanced domain settings".
9. Click on "Change your DNS settings".
10. To add an TXT record, click on "Add DNS Record".
11. Select TXT from the dropdown menu.
12. Leave the "Name" field blank and paste the the TXT record to the "Value" field.
13. Click on "Update" to save the settings.
14. Once we have done this we will notify you and you can then go back to the page where you see your TXT record and click "Verify".

Please let me us know if you have any trouble with these instructions.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

OK I did the steps and I now seem to have info@theappleguy.co.uk set up in via Google Apps but when I email it nothing is transfered to my own email account. So I seem to be missing the bit that will let me connect info@theappleguy.co.uk to Outlook or even another gmail account?

Also I never get notifications that you have replied to my email, can you check notifications are working?

Hi, Kevin,

I found this link from Google on how to integrate Outlook with Google Apps: http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/a...

Do you mean the notifications from Get Satisfaction? This is a setting from GS; please post on GS's forum and see if they can help you. Or their support is support@getsatisfaction.com.

Get Satisfaction is the platform we use to run this forum so the notifications you are receiving when comments are left on this thread are from Get Satisfaction but our forum. Hope that helps.

 Hi Kevin

Thanks for continue to work with us on this issue.

I have taken a look at your DNS records and see that your MX records are not there.  I have added it manually added the MX records to your DNS so that you are able to receive emails to your account.  It can take up to 48 hours to propagate across the internet.

Once this is set up, you will be able to access your account online here:
https://www.google.com/a/theappleguy.... You will be able to administer your account on this link: https://www.google.com/a/theappleguy....

Thanks Nazlie, I appreciate your help, but you guys really need t look at making this way easier than this. A simple emal address using the domain name you have been given should be much simpler to set up that this process. I spent 2 hours building my wbe site and about a week to get my email address working!

I am trying to do the same thing, i see the previous post about the email not being available if you have registered through gbbo but I have just gone back and checked and this is not what it says on their site. The below is copied from the gbbo homepage

'Create a website for your business in 15 minutes, for free

Businesses of every type and size need to be found online. Use our simple online tool to create your first website - no technical knowledge needed. Update your site from any computer, for free.

Here's what you'll get:

FREE. co.uk domain for 1 year
FREE easy-to-update website for 1 year
FREE email address @yourdomain
FREE support

So why can I not just set up my email address?

Hi Moyra,

You are definitely entitled to a free email address with the GBBO program, and you set this up via Google Apps. In Emmy's previous post, she was referring to Yola Mail not being available for this program.

The steps that Emmy provided in the first response are the steps you need to follow to set your email up via Google Apps. They have been updated slightly, so here are the revised steps:

1. Log into your Google Apps account.
2. On the "Setup" page, click on "Verify Domain Ownership" and then click "Next" to begin.
14. Now you can go back to your Google Apps account and click on the "Verify" button that was visible on the same page as the Google Apps TXT record you've just added to your DNS settings. Google Apps will verify your domain and this may take anything up to 48 hours to complete (usually a lot quicker)."

I hope this is helpful and clears up any misunderstandings! Please let us know if you encounter any problems.

Hello Moyra,

If you need help with this, please can you send an email to support@yola.com, ATTN: Sanja. I can try to set this up for you but I'd need your Google Apps login details sent to me.

If you'd rather phone, our phone support is available Monday-Fridays.
