Hi Sanja,
How to create a blog page by html coding?
I'm creating site by html nowadays, not the widgets prepared by Yola.
But i never created a blog page in HTML.
What code do i need to put on my site for the blogging feature?
What are the steps to do so?
Is there any tutorial to show me?
I don't use blog widget in Yola sitebuilder.

Thank you!
Hope to get from you soon.

Regards,
Jornes

Hi Jornes! I do not think there is actually a possible way to do this. Because, Blogs are powered by scripts and a bunch of code. You could use Blogger and then put a frame of the blog on your page. But, Sanja will be able to give you more details on this.

Hello Jornes

Is there a particular reason why you wish to HTML code a blog? There are so many various blogging platforms out there that this will definitely be the easier approach to take. I'm just curious!

The reason is that it helps to promote the website url

Hi Michael, how does it help promote the website's URL? HTML is a language for building webpages and I don't quite understand how it helps SEO and promoting your site. Your Yola website is built with HTML actually but, the web builder does it all for you. So, when you drag over a widget it updates the code and puts in a piece of code to add that widget. So no matter what, it is always HTML no matter what. (Unless it is a flash website)

Hi what it does is use your website url so if you have mywebsite.com then your blog would be mywebsite.com/blog and each post made would promote your website url in the search engines, im talking about the blog, so using HTML and css on yola when u create a blog so the format is the same as your web page, hope you understand what im saying, and yes you right HTML is a language for building web pages, take care

Oh, yeah. I would just use CSS to customize the blog because if you use HTML to build a blog, you wont be able to use the urls like website.com/blog/2010/11/blog-post-name Can you even create a blog with just HTML? I thought you need PHP or some other language so the posts will update and stuff.

Jornes, would you be satisfied with a WordPress blog on your Yola site? That can be done. I think Sanja uses a WP blog at her site, by means of an iframe. You can read more about it in this thread - http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/yol...

Hi it can be done buy overriding the blog css with your own here are some that I have done.

http://www.webmikesites.com/web-desig...

http://www.webmikesites.com/blog.php

http://www.webmikesites.com/blog-yola...

The reason to add a blog to your website with your website url helps push the url in search engines and if the design looks like your website all the better, type rent a website into google webmikesites is page 1 and was position 1 try yourself thanks take care

Yeah, you can overwrite it by just viewing the page source of your blog first and then getting classes and ids to style it with CSS. But, I have my blog separate from my website because if Yola goes down, I can still post there on the blogger blog and there wont be a problem with it because it is on a separate platform. Here is the blog for my site created with Blogger: Click here to go to Blog »

P.S Are you a Yola Expert?

Thanks,
Nathan

Wow! But, if you create your blog with HTML, you wont be able to make it go and have separate pages because you cannot create folders like mysite.com/2010/blog-post-name or something. I am also good in HTML but not good with creating blogs with HTML because how would you post the posts with using just HTML? Check out this website I am creating, but I only have one page up for testing right now and no body sees it unless I give a link to it: http://pauljohnsonphotos.com/gallery.... I am currently creating that site with 100% HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript for the lightboxes and other features. How do you become a Yola Expert?

Hi Nathan have a look at this page, made using the blog feature, the menu is all the blog links so you can create a menu using your blog links thanks take care
http://www.webmikesites.com/web-desig...
Also look at the url, this really helps your website SEO, using ur key words in the address, if you type rent a website into Google look for webmikesites.com I am on the first page and was position 1 using rent a website in my URL has helped like instead of putting about us i would put rent-a-website-about-us, and portfolio I would put web-design-company-portfolio, I find this helps

Hey guys and girls, this is what i want actually when i first started this topic. I 100% html code my own website in yola but unable to code my own blog with Yola, Because i want the blog style 100% same with my website style.

I've been searching and learning along the way for a several months, going to be a year soon. I've learned how to convert my own layout into wordpress as people always said as hot topic "wordpress as cms(Content Management System". Now i can have my own style blog that totally same with my website.

The pages in my website have not completed yet, but the layout is done and the blog is done, too. Cheers!

Feel free to take a look at the job i've done.

Well! I left Yola for a long period of time and i learned how to create website from scratch to php code knowledge. Now, I have created a new website for my business in line of kitchen cabinet. Want to see website? See it here --.> Kitchen Cabinet website. Or visit my newly created Timeline for my business.

Sorry Yola! I'm not promoting my business here, as my business is only available in Malaysia. I just want to share with more people the website i design & created. =)
