Hello Carolina,

Welcome to Yola! There is nothing in our terms to prevent you from charging for your services for a site built with Yola. Any arrangement you enter into with a client is entirely between the two of you. Yola will not become involved should any dispute arise regarding this.

I would only urge you to create separate accounts for any site you are creating for someone else, as there is no way to transfer a site from one account to another once it is created.

I also recommend that you be very clear with your client that they will need to select from a library of styles available in Yola and that the customization options at this stage are limited. From experience I know that this is the biggest problem website designers have with their clients when using a free website creator.

I am not sure if you have heard of YEP, Yola Experts Program, this is a program for people who are doing exactly what you would like to do. Here is a link to learn more: Learn more about YEP.

Good luck with your business!

Thank you so much Emmy, I feel that I have direction now but how can this be a free website creator ? Somewhere there must be some cost involved in creating a website ? Even if it is for myself ? Where is the cost lying in this whole setup ? I need to know that.

Hi Carolina. I am glad Emmy's suggestions helped you. I would be happy to answer your other questions. Yola does make it possible for you to build, publish and host your site for free. However, we also offer a excellent premium package called "Yola Silver" that includes everything you need to build a site that truly stands out from your competition! You might decide that this package is the right solution for you right now, or you might decide that you would rather start with the free version and upgrade later. It is entirely up to you. The Yola Silver package includes a domain name for one year, a premium style, extra storage space and much more! The cost is $49.95 per year. For more information and a comparison between our free and paid packages, see: http://www.yola.com/pricing

If anything is still unclear, please let us know and we can go into greater detail on any aspect of our packages that you need to know more about.

Thank you for clearing that side up for me. Does the client pay for his website yearly himself or will that go through me, so he pays his yearly fee to me and I pay you to keep his website going?

Hello Carolina

There are different ways to handle the financial aspect of it. It really depends on what would be most efficient for you. Are you planning on being the webmaster for your clients' sites? If so, it maybe more feasible if you pay for it and your clients pay you.

If you plan to have your clients eventually take over the website, it may be easier for them to pay for the site from the get-go so that there is no need to worry about transferring domain registration, billing information, etc.. It is also advisable that if you go this route, that you set up the account separate from yours as you will not be able to transfer the site you made in your account to another account.

You or your client (if they have set up the domain registration and any purchases) will get a renewal notice based before the expiration date.

I hope that I did not add the confusion! Please let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you so so much to you all for the information. I feel good already and very determined to make a success.
One more question please. Editing my own and clients' websites. What does that entail ? How many times can I edit and the cost involved ?

Hi Carolina,

The great news is once you have created an account, well, it's yours! You can log in and out as many times as you want. You can build and edit to your heart's content! The only pricing you'll encounter at Yola are for products that are optional, and you are not limited to accessing your Yola sitebuilder in any way without them.

Take a look at some of our great tutorials to show you how to get going- Basics- Getting Started.

Trusting this helps!
