I have a site for www.theoryofvalues.com. I own the domain from before. I did everything correctly with adding the A record in DNS. However, navigating there redirects to theoryofvalues.yolasite.com.

How do I fix this. I want have it navigate to www.theoryofvalues.com and not get redirected to theoryofvalues.yolasite.com. How do I fix this?

Thanks

Hello Bryan,

What type of Yola account do you have? Free/Bronze/Silver/Gold The domain pointing is for Bronze, Silver or Gold accounts.

Hi.

I looked up the DNS info for your site and it is pointing to the correct IP. I'll past below some info from one of the Yola Tutorials.

Once you have configured your DNS settings, to publish your unpublished site to your pointed domain:

1. Click on the "Publish" button in Yola.
2. In the "Already own a domain?" section, click on "Point your domain now".
Enter your domain name.
3. If the domain is correctly set up, it will say "Congratulations. Your domain is pointed!".
4. If your domain is not correctly configured, it will say "Sorry. This domain is not pointed correctly". You will need to go back to your domain registrar and double-check your settings.
5. Click "Next" to publish your site to your domain.

To publish your live site to your domain:

1. If your site is already published to a Yola subdomain, go to My Yola.
2. Click on "Domains".
3.Under "Add a domain you already own" select "Want to keep your domain registered with another registrar?"
4.Type your domain name into the required field, and select the site you'd like to use it with.
5. Click "Add".
6. Follow steps provided.

My domain is redirecting to my Yolasite subdomain

If you've published your site to your own domain and it is redirecting to your Yolasite subdomain, here's how to change it so that the subdomain redirects to your custom domain:

1. Log in to your Yola account .
2.Make sure the correct site name is selected from the "Select Site" drop-down menu.
3.Click on "Advanced settings", located to the right of your site's name.
4. The two domains will be listed on the page and you will be able to change your primary domain by clicking on "Make primary".

Your custom domain name will now be the primary and the subdomain will redirect to the custom domain.

Hi,

I love that you are trying to help. I think Yola is broken. None of that works.

It doesn't list the other value. There is only the right value listed, so I can't switch primary. So it remains broken.

Both of these navigate to the wrong place: theoryofvalues.com, www.theoryofvalues.com

Here is how bad it is. This is after I completely deleted those Yola websites for that site. I then created a new site. I then mapped the correct domain to it. And Yola is still having old broken data in their database that still breaks this.

This is broken in the Yola database. Is there anything I can do? Thanks for all of your trying.

Hello Bryan

When I navigate to your website http://www.theoryofvalues.com/, I'm not redirected to your yolasite subdomain. For me your custom domai name displays and I can view your website without any problems. Has this issue been resolved in the meantime, or are you still having problems? The yolasite subdomain seems to have been removed from your website, so now it's only available under your custom domain name theoryofvalues.com.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Stefan,

I found it still broken in my main browser. I found it fixed in other browsers. So something must be caching on my local browser. That is very strange.

I'll consider this fixed. Thanks!

Now I have to figure out what is wrong with caching locally.

Thanks again!
