I've created a table and I cannot figure out how to get rid of the thin black line that is inside my table. Here's what the table looks like:

Here's the code:

<!--<table width="100%" height="100%" border="5px" bordercolor="#d37961" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#e9e0c5" class="outline"> <tr> <td valign="top"><table width="850" height="10" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" background="%20"> <tr> </tr> </table> -->

I know there is a way around it.. but I just can't think of it!

littleus,
I am having the same problem, but not using that code above.here is my code i am using:
<!--<center> <table bordercolor="#00acde" width="600" border="1" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td valign="middle" height="40"><font face="jester" size="5"><center><SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> greet(); </SCRIPT></font> </b></td> </tr> </tbody> </table>--> It can be seen on my test page http://testpager.yolasite.com around "Good....." i made the cellspacing bigger so you can see. this code is also tied to the box above it (the one that tells you what time it is.

Harry are you trying to remove the blue line perhaps?

If you are then simply replace the 00acde with FFFFFF and it will turn white. If you want it any other color simply pick one and edit your code to match your preference... Here is a great tool if you don't have one already...http://www.ficml.org/jemimap/style/co...

Happy site building

Ed, if i remove the blue line then i will only have 2 borders. This is the original code.
<!--<table bordercolor="#0099FF" width="370" border="1" cellspacing="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td valign="top" height="350"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Text here...</font></b></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table> -->
I believe i am having the same problem as the person who started this thread. i was hoping littleus could say what was figured out.

Yeah I have been playing around with the code she had up top but to share some bad news it is a page breaker in that if you change it to a certain extent (small changes) you can actually break your page very badly. I did in three moves... LOL a chess match saying...

Could you please state what you want the code to do exactly? Your reply is unclear as to your intent...

to put borders around text to separate objects on my page this code for table with title:
<!--<table bordercolor="#0099FF" width="370" border="1" cellspacing="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td bgcolor="#CCFFFF"><center><b><font face="Verdana" color="#000000" size="2">Title here...</font></b></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td valign="top" height="350"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Text here...</font></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table> -->
And both have the black lines

Yes a sad side effect of the code that you are using. Like I shared above that is in fact a drop shadow which has a black left and top and a gray bottom and right. Hit the Ctrl and the + key a 6 or so times and you will see what I am talking about. Ctrl - to return to normal...

The only way to remove that effect is to us another code... Sad but true...

Drop shadows are a way to show depth. They make the table pop out and be noticed. I like it either way...

I am involved with another thread but will try to get you something that works later... It is 11PM so I may not be able to tonight:(

Sorry chief I used your code and that happens to be a shadow effect and your code has no way that I see to remove it... If you increase the border size to 100 you can see the black on the left and gray on the right...

Are you looking for simply a thin blue border because you can do that in a text widget and some extra coding?

Hi Harry... instead of a table code, use a div code:

<div style="border: 1px solid black; padding: 10px; background-color: rgb(93, 196, 211); text-align: center;"><font size="3"><b>YOUR TEXT GOES HERE<br></b></font></div>

You can also use this thread to see all the different ways of altering a div box:

OH whew.. glad there's no issue! From my research, the black line is fairly common in showing up when using table codes. For some reason, browsers tend to render that line. Not sure why.. so you have to tweak it so that the browser doesn't add that line in. I know this is not a very good answer nor a technical one.. but it's an answer! =D

Reading about this little thin black line has given me even more grey hairs.
I would have just used "Wite-Out" or "Tipex" on my monitor.
Just kidding with you guys ;-)

Hey LittleYou... Girl, that code of yours on the very top of the page really knows how to break a page good if even looked at incorrectly... LOL

I tinkered and did some pretty freaky stuff to it and broke a page a few times with it. Exciting but broken none the less.

Is it odd that I enjoy a good page break now and again? It excites things and can get the ol heart pumping. OK well that is only if it happens to be your main site. ;)

As you can see this was back in the early days when I was first with Yola... it's not the greatest code as you have experienced! It's definitely wacky, and if you know how to work with it, it's actually pretty cool. I do need to tweak it though - it's too tempermental.

Come on girl 3 months ago you were already kicking code butt and taking initials because you weren't gonna bother with the gremlins long enough to learn their names. ;)

Early days... LOL You're funny

Slowly but surely I'm emerging from my cocoon! I just joined Yola 5 months ago with no knowledge of HTML. The first month I didn't really use Yola as I was still scoping out other web-builders. Then, in the second month, I just used Yola's templates and the site building tools. Finally in the 3rd month, I decided to branch out and actually try using HTML coding. All I've learned is from people like you, Boomer, Peter and Lee! So, I hope I'm following in your footsteps well and making you proud daddy-o! =)

Just lost the job at the plant this morning and wondering if you guys are hiring any skilled button pusher type guys to like you know push buttons and things in San Fran?

A little about me: I like playing "einie mienie" in my spare time and a doughnut with sprinkles is to die for. I have saved Springfield like a million times but don't know if it counts if you are the one that caused the close meltdown so maybe forget that one. I have a loving wife and 3 kids but we are going on Jerry Springer next week and I will see once and for all if they are really mine. Did I mention that I like doughnuts?

How is YOLA on property insurance because "einie mienie" wont work forever you know...
