We receive a lot of questions about how to link your domain to your site if it is already published to another domain or a yolasite.com subdomain.

A common scenario is: You built your website and have published it to a free yolasite.com subdomain. You then decide to add your own (custom) domain name or an additional domain name, if your company name changes, for example.

If you open your site in the Sitebuilder and click on “Publish”, it will re-publish to the domain to which it is already published, so how to add the new domain name?

Here’s how:

  1. Go to My Yola.

  2. Select the site from the drop-down list of sites (if you have more than one site).

  3. Click on “Advanced Settings” under the site’s name. This page allows you to manage the domains that are linked your site.

  4. You will see the domain or subdomain name to which your site is published. Select your new domain name from the drop-down list next to “Add an existing domain”.

  5. Click “Add” to add it to your site. You will see that both domains are now listed on your site.

You can select which of these domains are the primary (main) domain name. Click on the “Make primary” link next to the domain to set it as the main domain. It will then be set as the one to which the other domain(s) will redirect.

You can add as many domains to your site, following the steps for each domain.
