1. Unpublish your site so that it's not accessible at all. You can find the steps on this link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/.... When you've made the changes, click on "Publish to the web" to publish your site again.
2. Password protect your site. That way you can continue to work on it, publish it and view your updated site. Nobody else will be able to though unless they have your site's login details. More info on this link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/....
