Nazlie, I looked at that link (http://www.yola.com/tutorials/categor..., went to the link for publishing (http://www.yola.com/tutorials/article..., clicked on "yahoo" which took me to (http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/...) which didn't help at all. I finally ended up on the Bing Webmaster site....loaded in my site....then tried to verify. I am either too dense to understand what to do, or NOTHING is working as it's supposed to. I couldr eally use some help on this

Hello Dan,

Seems as if you can use Bing webmaster tools for validation of both Yahoo and Bing search indexation. So if you are successful with the site addition and verification then you have in fact added your site to both Yahoo and Bing I think.

You need t have a Live ID

Add your site to the facility

Validate your ownership of the site. There are three options. The XML won't work because we don't have access to the server.

If you have a Yola Silver Subscription then you can place the meta tag in the sitewide CSS of your site.

If you don't have Silver then you can use the DNS option and the Yola DNS manager allows such an extended CNAME.

Well...again...I'm sort of dense when it comes to this....how would I try to add the CNAME record to DNS? I don't have Silver, btw.

Hi Dan ,

Sorry for the delay but was just going through the process step by step and documenting it as I went. I hope that I haven't missed anything and if there's a problem please let me know here.

Instructions:

From the site builder go to My Yola
Select Domains

Within Your Domains at the far right hand side of your domain you will see Advanced Settings. Click on that.

This will open a new page titled Advanced domain settings for xxxxxxxxx and five sub-headings
Select Change your DNS settings
Then go down to the end of the page and you will see Add DNS record. Click this.
This will then display a pro-form of a new record with CNAME as the default record addition. In the second field add the Bing record (example: 7a1ccd7666d57752c654xyjk2ZDW6.a) and in the third field add the phrase verify.bing.com

The process works Dan and I can see the verification of a site that I just did this for. The problem may be that there is something that I have presumed rather than documented so please let me know if you have any problems and we can sort this out.
