Hi pigeon

This is known as a favourites icon or favicon.

To add your own favicon to your site (the little image that appears next to your URL if the browser window):
1) Click on the properties sidebar
2) You will see a "Favourites Icon" field (the second last box from the top). Click on the browse button to the right of the box to browse your desktop for an image to upload.
3) You need to do this for each page of your site where you want the favicon to display.

To see what your favicon will look like, save and preview your page.

Please note that Internet Explorer doesn't allow favicons to be displayed next to your URL or on the tab of the window. The favicon will be displayed if the site is bookmarked and in your Favourites folder. The best option would be to change to Firefox who do show the favicons in all three areas!

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any difficulty with this.

Best wishes
Monique

Once you do this and republish your site, people will be able to see your favicon. How the icon displays for them depends on what browser they are using, as explained above.

Hi pigeon - if your site is already published, you would need to click the yellow 'Update my Site' button on the top toolbar.

Hi pigeon,

When ever you make changes to your site you need to republish (or update it) so that those changes can be reflected on the live site. This is the one people see when they come to your site.

I'm not sure what you mean by causing you 'to get in trouble?' could you explain that one a little more for me please.

What would be the best size to use for a 'Favicon'? Would it be around 32x32?

It doesn't really matter. SynthaSite resizes it to the correct size for you.

ok, thanks.

Using 'Prnt Scrn' it worked out that it's about 16x16 in FireFox.
