HOWDO I REMOVE WHITE BORDERS AND HOWDO I ADD HOVER TEXT?

Is it possible to remove the white frames from images added from the text bar, as opposed to thedrag and drop from the properties bar, so that the image just floats on the page as opposed to having a border. I like to put some pics in via the text bar as they are easier to move about but the white border is inappropriate for what I need. Also, is it possible to add a "hover text" over images added from the text bar. I know how to do it from the properties bar via the alternative text box but can't make it happen from the text way. Any help gratefully received!! Thanks - I'm holding my breath!!

Hello,
Can you show me an example of what you mean by white frames around an image. Here is a screen shot of an image I added to the page using the image widget, can you tell me how yours differs?

To add alternative text to an image you need to use the image widget.

Let me know about your image and I will offer some suggestions.

Hi Emmy, Hope I'm doing this the rght way as this site totally confuses me!! When I add an image from the contents sidebar it appears fine, as yours does above. But when I add one from the text bar across the top (because it gives you "handles" to move it better) it always appears with a white border. I am using a style with black background so it would not showup on the white screen you have put your image on. I'm quite new to this so unfortunately do not understand the other replies about image codes etc.- I want to keep it simple!! Also, on the same image, (from the top bar) is there a facility to add hover text, as there is from the content sidebar? Sory if I am confusing you - I'm confusing myself!

At least I knownow I have to use the image widget for alternative text. Did ou understand what I mean about the white border. If I could attach a copy to send to you I could show you what I mean. Is this possible?

For Hover text you will have to add a image in a text widget, then press html find the image code (

Only do it if you know what your doing or do a test on a test page.

This code may help to get rid of the white border. You'll need to go into your html section in your text widget. Find where your image code is and replace with the following:

<!--<img style="border-width:0px;" src="PUT YOUR FILE NAME AND PATH HERE" />-->

Be sure to take out the <!-- and -->

Hi Leeann,

We totally don't want you to be confused; we'll get it worked out!

I am not sure why you are seeing your images with a white border; possibly they all ready have a white border before being added? I have added some images using to a black background style and a text widget and cannot replicate the white border. Here is what I am seeing:

If you could upload one of your images here, you will see in the reply area there is an "Add an image" tab; then we can take a look at it. What the others are speaking of is a way to remove border using html.

For the alt text this can only be added using the image widget, if you are using a text widget to insert pictures you can't add the alt text to the code.

Ok, let me know.

Hi Emmy, Thanks for your patience. That is how my images look when I add them from the content sidebar. The problem is when I add them from alternative way of adding an image by dropping them into a text box from the text bar at the top, only then do they appear with a white border. Could you try this and see if I am going mad? If I upload a pic here for you they will not have a white border as I am certain none of my pics have white borders. I have added an image typical of my dividing image between main images. If I add this from the side bar its's ok. If I add it from the top bar - it has a white border!! Thanks, LeeAnn. (Phew!)

Hi Leann,
The images I added that you see in the image above were added to a text widget by using the Insert Image icon on the edit toolbar. Can you post one of your images and I will take a look at it.

Hi Emmy,
Did you get my last reply? My screen froze whilst it was sending the image so I don't know if it went or what.
