Hyperlink to home page from banner

I have been a Yola Silver user for a few months now. I'm really happy with our website and have even added in some fancy features such as a jquery slider on the homepage, mailchimp forms and viewbook slideshows etc.

There is just one thing missing from our site that would make it perfect and that is a hyperlink on the banner at the top of each page so that it links back to the homepage wherever you are on the site. This seems a standard feature on every website I go on, so why doesn't Yola have this feature built in, especially when you can hyperlink all the other pictures that are imported??!!!

I have been intermittently researching this for a while now and stumbled across a workaround that was suggested by someone a few months ago by placing a widget at the top of the site and using minus figures to move it to the top of the page once the hyperlink has been added.

My site now has in excess of 65 pages, so manually doing this on each page just isn't feasible. I'm not very clued up on html/css etc but am learning, so I'm sure there must be a way to add some coding in somewhere so that the site's banner is hyperlinked?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Minnie

I'm afraid that adding a link to the banner image is not yet possible with Yola. As it has been frequently requested, it's definitely on our list and under consideration.

There are two workarounds, the one you found, and using a Style without banner area and adding a banner with a hyperlink manually at the top of the page. The latter solution will most probably be no option for you, either.

I'm sorry that I can't offer you a better solution at the moment. We'll keep our users posted about future feature updates.

Is there any update on this?

I have completed my clients website http://www.ellentobinphotography.co.uk/

We have had to be a little clever to get the right design in the header so cant change it. She has asked several times for this functionality! Meant to say - link from the image in the banner!

Hello Philip,

Awesome site design! I'm sorry that we still don't have a solution for linking the banner image on the SuperFlat Style your client is using. The alternative solution would be to use the Skyline Style and add your banner image as a logo. The whole logo area will be clickable and link to the home page. However, this would require re-editing the site and also adding the Page Heading "Nottingham Photographer, Portraits - Family - Commercial" onto the banner image as part of it. If you'd like to try it, you're welcome to. Otherwise I'll need to ask for your further patience until this feature is added. Please note that your Page Heading is already clickable and takes your visitors to your home page.
