Hello Mick

When I look at your website, I can see that there is a large amount of links in your main navigation menu. Did you build it that way or is this not what you'd like to see? Did you maybe work with the Page Manager and take all pages into the navigation?

This is not what I want and would prefer each group of links to go into boxes with just one link ie:- all mickarchie cartoons under one roof. House and pet sitting under one roof, Travel phototos under one link. But how.

Hi Mick,

I don't believe I can explain it any clearer than the step by step instructions in the link I posted above. Please click through that link and follow the steps in the tutorial. If you get stuck on a step, let us know which one and the specific problem you are experiencing.

Hello Mick,

Your site isn't confused but I think that people who come to your site will be overwhelmed by the sheer number of navigation links.

If you can group them into a collection of say 8 to 10 headings then this would be your starting point and the main navigation titles.

When a person then goes to one of these pages they will be taken to a page which then itself would have a list of your grouped pages. The whole objective is to break it down into amounts that don't overwhelm the user when confronted with this information.

This second step would be managed by creating direct links from the title to the relevant page. The primary navigation would be the first level of introduction but the second level won't appear in your over-all navigation menu.

If you would like a hand to get going with this then please don't hesitate to contact me: gop@designscent.com. I think that once you get into the idea, the process will be very straight-forward for you and will only require a short time to knock into shape.

Thank you. Have sussed that. pressed a few buttons on the Yola site and found how to hide the nav. links and am already doing what you suggest above by making a few links on intro page to different parts of my site then putting the links on these pages. Am not the greatest puter man in the world and find it difficult understanding site instructions. For instance, when you go into page manager on the righthand side there is an indent arrow. Says click this and create a submenu ?????? I clicked it and things dissappeared, where to? The tick next to it I clicked and it was a Eureka moment I now know how to hide all those Navigation links on opening page. What I need is an Idiots guide to Yola. I enjoy putting stuff on it and there are hundreds of pictures of our tours around Europe and would like more people to see them so I will keep pressing buttons till I sort it. Thanks for your input and would appreciate a follow up by you when I have cleared some of it up.Could take a while. Mick Hill (mickarchie) also on Twitter.

Sounds as if you are moving along well Mick. It tends to go in fits and starts and the starts are always accelerated. You're on the right track.
