Hello Anthony,

You can point your domain to Yola's servers through your registrar's DNS management facility. This will retain your domain with them but allow you to publish your Yola built site to your domain and it's free. There probably isn't a need to transfer your domain.

Yola have a Tutorial explaining the process Publish to a domain you already own

Hello Anthony

I'm sorry for the confusion we caused you with regard to your upgrade and usage of your domain.

Including the price for a .com domain in your Yola Silver package is a special offer which only applies to the first year of your subscription. From the second year on, your hosting package and domain will be billed separately, i.e. it will be US$ 99.95 for Yola Silver plus the price for the domain on top. If you found an external registrar with a cheaper domain price, congratulations and welcome to Yola nevertheless! :-)

Gop is right: Yola Silver allows you to point your domain registered with another provider to your Yola website for free.

However, if you physically transfer your external domain to us, we will charge you our price for the domain because transferring your domain to Yola means that you will have your domain with us and that we'll start managiing it for you.

So when you point your domain to us from your other registrar, your annual costs will be the price for Yola Silver with us and the price for your domain with your other registrar. I hope this makes sense.

Thank you for upgrading to Yola Silver. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Anthony

Just to clarify on transferring a domain to us: The charge for the transfer will be for the year that follows your current registration period. This means you won't be double-charged for the time you already paid for, but the transfer charge will add another year of registration on top of what is left of your current registration period. This is a requirement by our domain registration partner, and it's beyond our control. But you won't be double-charged, and you won't lose any part of your current registration period for which you have already paid with your other registrar.
