I believe this went unanswered last time I asked. Is it possible to make an entire widget a clickable link?

Hello Donald,

It may make a difference what you are referring to as "an entire widget". There are a variety of them. You certainly can make photos into hyperlinks.
Best wishes,

I know photos can be hyperlinks, I often use that option. Take note on my home page the pink background... the entire widget is a pink background with a link. WITHOUT making it into an image, I was wondering if there was a code to make the whole thing a clickable link. I am recreating my site with a better navigation system and I'd like to make several of these clickable... too much to make into images as that would be TOO much extra time to do. It doesn't look right the current way I can do it. I'd like it to kind of look like a button without having to make them into images. I also don't have the space for that... I need to reserve my space for very important and necessary images.

Hi Donald,

I've tried search for an answer for you on Google with no luck. Hoping that an HTML expert around will help you!

Donald, it might help if you provided a little more information about what you are trying to do. As Sister correctly points out, in many cases it would depend on the widget.

One solution would be attach an event to the div containing the widget, then use JavaScript to prevent the default action of the click and open a url. However, this is not really a great way to do it, and i'm not sure if I would recommend this. Thing is, by "making an entire widget" into a link, you will likely mess with the functionality of the widget, so .. again, this is only a viable solution for a very limited subset of widgets ..

to simplify, I want everything in the widget to be one link, not just the words or images - background, text, everything in the widget. I want to be able to click on my self created background and follow the link rather than being restricted to the words. I want to be able to create a button-like effect without having to create an image. I have nearly 1 to 20 of these per page with a goal of 10 to 20 pages per day. I don't have the time to create a separate image each one.
