Hi Krissie,

You posted in the Get Satisfaction customer support community so I'm going to move your topic to Yola's support community where there will be plenty of people happy to answer your question.

Hello Krissie,

I'm sorry but it isn't possible to upload a site built elsewhere into the site builder. For a site to work in Yola it needs to be built using the Yola site builder. If we can further assist you please let us know.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hello krissie,

welcome to Yola community forum. I see you took the high road and Amy directed you on. Nice way to arrive.

Yola has its own building tools for site building. The templates or styles are required to be able to publish your site. Other templates at this stage can't be used. It's not a prohibition it's just the way the builder and templates have been set. There are more than 70 templates available so there's every chance that one will be appropriate.

You asked if you can use MS Notepad to build your site. It's an unusual way to do it with yola and I think many would say that it can't be one. I think it's a high level skill to start with something like this. There would be a copuple of risk factors that I feel could come into play. One is identifying inappropriate code produced by other text editors and placed on your site. this really has caused a lot of grief over the past . The other thing is that you can really miss the nuances that help you build skills and to really understand the way it all works. The tricks of the trade, the work-arounds for various designs etc.

So the answer is probably yes., but not out of the box :)

Yola support thier customers here on this forum and by email: support@yola.com. Phone support is not something that they have integrated simply because these two work so well. There would be people available 24 hours here. people who really do have great skills and knowledge and excellent communication ability.

I hope we see you around. Don't be intimidated by characters with badges and medallions we're all the same and all very friendly.

Welcome again Krissie.

Welcome Krissie!

Really nice to see the teamwork here between Amy, Emmy and Peter so thank you guys for doing such a great job in getting the information to Krissie quickly!

Krissie, we are happy to have you. Sorry that you had a bit of a hard time finding out where to get help. I am glad you got here in the end!

So Peter has already given you a lot of great advice. Just to summarize:

1) In Yola you work within the context of your chosen style. So the first step is to select a style that works for you.
2) You then have the option to use our widgets to build your site, or you can write your own HTML using our HTML editor. You could copy and paste from NotePad if you like.

So although we can't help you with just uploading pre-built webpages, hopefully we can help you achieve your aims another way. Tell us more about the site you are trying to create and what you are hoping to add and we will see what we can do!
