Hi Demi,

I'm sorry you're having this problem - can you let me know what happens when you try to edit or delete the widgets as I would like to try replicate the problem on my side to see why.

Thanks!

Hi Justine,

thanks for your quick answer !
The widget ,,upcoming shows" has text content and the widget ,,past gigs" has a copy from a word document, text also...Nothing happens when I try to edit them .If I tried to delet'it , a small window apear and ask me if I'm sure I want to delet the widget.I confirm, and that's all. I can edit every other widget from the main page except this two.

Thanks for helping me !

Hi Demi,

I think the reason this is happening is because you pasted text from MS Word to your Yola site.

Microsoft uses their own proprietary HTML which is not compatible with websites. When you copy and paste rich text directly from MS Word (or another external source) onto your site, this brings along a whole lot of unwanted formatting that is not web friendly and can easily break your page. It can also cause your site to show up differently in different browsers. The problem might not always show up immediately, but sometimes it happens after you save and navigate to a different page or log out and log in again.

In the future, to avoid display and loading (and in your case, editing) issues, the best alternative is first to paste your text into NotePad (in the accessories folder of your computer) and then paste it as plain text onto your Yola page. You can then use the Text Editing Toolbar to format your text as desired. Please note that this would be the case with any browser-based text editor you might use, not just Yola. It is a universal website building problem.

It's also always a good idea to keep a copy of your text in a .txt file from Notepad so that you have a backup copy kept on your PC.

In this case, I can try fix it on my side, if you can just confirm with me that you would like the widget that says "Upcoming shows", the entire list of shows and the as the "Past gigs" widget deleted.

Hi Demi,

Thanks for your patience - I am working on deleting your widgets, but experienced some problems. I have referred your request to one of my colleagues who is currently offline. They will get in touch with you on the forum when they are back online, to help with this.
