I've always wanted to sell my poetry online. I have no clue on how to set up my site for people to order my poetry. Can anyone help me with this? I would like to start selling my poetry as soon as possible.

Hi,

We have a tutorial that explains how to create an online store using the Online Store feature on SynthaSite. Here is the link: Creating An Online Store - http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/c...

Hi Kathryn,

In addition to these suggestions you might also like to consider this:

We don't yet have a feature in SynthaSite that allows you to sell digital products. This is something we would need to work on. However, I can suggest the following service for this purpose: payloadz.com. They have an ideal set-up that allows you to sell digital products and they are compatible with Paypal. For more information take a look at their support page: Payloadz Support

If you decide to use this service you can easily integrate it into your SynthaSite site by:

1. Dragging and dropping an HTML widget onto your page.
2. Pasting the HTML embed code provided by payloadz.com.

Here is some more information on how PayLoadz delivers your digital goods to the customer (taken from their FAQ):
1. A customer browses a web site and finds a product or products that they would like to purchase.
2. They click the "Buy Now" links generated from the PayLoadz system to add an item to their shopping cart.
3. Once finished adding items, they click on "Check Out" to purchase their items.
4. They will be prompted for their PayPal or Google Checkout Username and Password. If they do not have an account, they will be given the opportunity to create one or to check out without creating an account using a credit card or bank account as their funding source.
5. After they have completed the payment process, the PayPal or Google Checkout server communicates with the PayLoadz server and provides the transaction details to our system. This communication takes place "behind the scenes" neither the customer, nor the merchant, sees this process.
6. Our system then sends your customer an email which contains custom "thank you" text that you specify during the product creation process, and a link to download their product. They are also redirected to the download page, immediately after payment at PayPal and Google Checkout, that provides them instant access to their purchase.
7. The link is an encoded link that, when clicked, processes at the PayLoadz web site instantaneously and prompts the customer with a download popup box asking to "Save" or "Open" the file.
8. The entire process happens in a matter of seconds. You are notified with two emails, one duplicate of the email sent to the customer from PayLoadz, and one for Notification of payment from PayPal or Google Checkout. We send the duplicate download email to you in case there is any problem with the email delivery to the customer. A person can purchase and download your goods in under a minute.

How can you sell poetry? people will want to read it first and then will just copy and paste it. you could sell a book of poetry if you wrote one. Lulu.com is a self publishing site you could look at.

I have been trying to sell poems also. I did sell them on plaques but the man that made them went out of business. I was personalizing them.

If your looking for an actual prototype of how you can sell poetry go to http://family-reunion-planner.fimark....
The author is also the artist and web developer.

Notice how he combines his art with his poetry and thus sells a product. If you select preview you get a popup with an excerpt of the poems alongside the buynow button.

Hello Kendrick,

The Yola Online Store mentioned below is probably not of cost benefit for a single or very few items. You can however use the free equivalent directly from Ecwid, who are the producers of the Yola Online Store. The setup is very straight forward. This allows you 10 products or items free of charge forever. The free package also allows for downloadable goods such as stories or poems.

If your inventory expands in due course then you can easily swing the free store over to a subscription and carry your products, in effect, to the Yola Online Store.

You can subscribe to the free package at Ecwid

Hello Kendrick

Yola Online Store enables you to sell intangible products as well. To classify them as such products you will leave out adding a weight information.

If you'd like to sell your text as a download or in another electronical form, our tutorial Selling and managing e-goods may be interesting for you.
