Hello Ernst,

Try re-publishing your site and see if it will come back up.

WHOIS advises that it is current until 19/12/2013 updated on the 22/12/2011. Did it possibly expire for 3 days?

Ernst hi,

Yola have just introduced the hosting plans have to be subscribed to if you wish to publish custom domains. You have the option of either a bronze Plan or the Silver Plan. Hosting is no longer free as from about 10 December.

So for your site to be published to your custom domain you need to pay. Bronze is the cheaper and you being a person previously on the Bronze Plan will get a discount for your first year.

The Yola staff return on the 2nd January. Your site is safe but unpublished and if you wish to publish I suggest that you speak to them on the 2nd.

I really hope your work is up and published again soon and it's really bad that you have had to hit this confusion.

Hello Ernst,

I hope to clarify this. We have recently made some changes to our various packages in early December which may explain the confusion you're having. You were moved to the new Bronze package at no charge. You have successfully renewed your domain (southafricangeographic.com), however, in order to use your domain, you needed to purchase a domain hosting package, which will be given to you at a discounted price of $23 for the first year.

Your other domain: kapstadtlodging.org was also moved the new Bronze package. Your domain does not expire until 2013-11-10. At that time, you will need to renew your domain as well as the domain hosting package.

For more information about these changes, please see: Exciting new package changes!

Dear Yola,

I don't think this is fair play at all, first you let your customer pay
for the domain, then afterwards you ask for more money.
You did not even send me an e-mail of your intention to change my account,
If I would have known this before I would never have paid the 2 years in advance,
and now I am left with a useless website.

Ernst

Hi Ernst,

I have checked your account and I can see that your renewed your domain southafricangeographic.com at the lower price of $11.90 for each year. This means that you paid a total of $23.90 for both years.

As Sanja has advised we have reduced the cost of domains, and we are offering hosting packages which you would need in order to publish your domain. As an original customer this package is offered at $23.00. This means that the cost of your domain $11.90 + the cost of the hosting package $23.00 = $34.95, which is the same price as you would have paid to renew your domain for 1 year previously.

We did send out email communication about the changes, and we will need to investigate why you may not have received them. Would you be able to check your Spam folder in case they were filtered?

If you have any further questions, please let us know and we will be happy to help. We are still on our Christmas break and we are only doing minimal support. So, we may not be able to respond until we return which is January 2, 2012.

Thanks,
Jackie
