Simply click on the "Publishing" menu and choose "Publishing Settings." This will take you to a dialog that will allow you to unpublish your site. Your site will not be live until to choose to publish it again. Please note that unpublishing your site releases your subdomain name to be registered by another user.

What if you have paid for the domain for the year? I simply don't want my "writings" to be published until I am finished. Thank you all, denise:)

I did but I put it under another topic. I love your search feature on "GS". It's so neat not to have to post the same questions that have already been answered so many times;)

Thank you again, denise
PS My other questions was on backgrounds:)

Hi oregoncounty,

Once you publish your site, the publish button turns into an "Update My Site" button.

To unpublish your site click on the downward arrow on that button and go to publishing settings.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

I've published my site, it's live, but I don't see the "Update My Site" button.

I'd like to unpublish and continue working on it...
