Hi megaphone newspapers,

What do you mean by an on-line publishing feature?

The registration feature is a third party option. Free for 10 subscribers and a paid for feature for more. Auth Pro

OK.

There are two ways you can add content to a Yola built website:

Directly by using the login facility which the owner has and secondly by using an RSS reader configured to pick up syndicated news feeds.

Individuals cannot access the site builder directly without the login details.

An RSS feed is your best bet. It was designed for this purpose :) .... and it's free in many cases! The readers are widely available to place within your site. These then are configured to capture the required feed.

For professional newsagency feeds, I suspect that there is a subscription. I'm not a journalist so i don't know this specific info. You would need to find their RSS news feed. Presumably add some account details then capture the feeds in an appropriate reader to then embed in your page. This is one of the earliest applications of the newsfeed and is still used. This is not within the realm of Yola it's out there.

I already have that ,but i want to tap more news direct from my conributors and i want the website to look more professional ,right now i can't cheat some one that i am new to web design,it looks like a students home work ,with alot of weakness and so on.It isn't very perfect and so they mistake it and run away!!!.It should be able to compete with other sites like fox news.com,variety news.com ,the bbc,the VOA e.t. c Right now ,i can't get these kind of news directly form the locals and any one out there who can contribute or who would want to be read through my website.

DO something about this for people of my kind on yola very fast, because without that ,for people of my kind it won't be possible to work.

The moment Yola allows this feature most small business sites will leave...We are on shared severs which is fine as long as not just anyone can add content.I would be gone in a flash as I am not willing to take that sort of security risk.

Your best alternative would most likely be to host your website on your own servers. Our goal is to assist small business owners in creating a business website and publishing it to the web, not in creating news source websites. I'm sorry but it is possible we are simply not a match for what you need.

The possibility of a writer submitting an article to you by email of course is a realistic option. I think that you are aware of the use of a form to do this and to direct the submission to a specific mailbox that you may reserve exclusively for submissions.

You would then be able to copy and paste the piece directly into your page (take it through something like Notepad though in the process) and publish it. I presume as the editor you would want to go through the articles before publication to "spit and polish" or simply to select appropriate articles as opposed to irrelevant on the day. I don't think that this would be a great burden and is probably something similar to most smaller newspapers do normally.
