I would like to have a page that is not yet in the publics veiw just yet. It is created in the edit Navigation link on the tool bar. Begininning Jan. 1 our 2010 page is to be a link and I will have a new 2011 page to show our newly adopted dogs.
So I want the 2010 page to be off the top and added as a link on the 2011 page.
I know how to use the linking tool for other things, just not this. Let me know if I am not explaining good enough. Please...

Hello June,

Thanks for your message. These are the steps to removing a page from your navigation:

1. Click on the "Edit Navigation" button on the top toolbar.
2. A dialog box will open and you will see the list of your pages in the left-hand pane under "Pages in the Navigation".
3. Click on the page you would like to remove and drag-and-drop it to "Pages out of the Navigation".

The page will no longer be in your navigation.

Cheers!

Ok, I got that part already ,thanks, But how do I link to it. I have the page that will be swapped with next years. I want to put a link on 2011's page (Jan. 1) that links to the 2010 page without having it appear up top.

Ok I think I found it, its in the internal linking. Thank you. Its the first time I am using an out of navigation page. Cool. I love it. Hopefully I got it right. But won't have it up for a few days... Thanks.

Ok, I just tried it, and clicked the link icon, then on the page of 4 options, clicked on page, then clicked on the page out of navigation. saved, then went back to preview and it did not work. Tried it a few times... Sigh... I really don't want an extra visable page on the list of pages. But I may have to do that for now. Help...

Hello June

A step may have been overlooked when trying to add your link. Please try following these steps:

1. Drag and drop a Text Widget onto your screen. It is in the "Basic" folder on the Sidebar to the right of your screen.
2. In the Text Widget, type in the text that you want people to click on (this is your link text). Highlight the link text, here the word "link" has been highlighted, and then click on the Link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the Text Editing Toolbar, and looks like the link in a chain).
3. A Link Editor dialog box will open and you will be given four options: You can link to a page on your site; an external URL; an email address; or a file on your computer. In your case, you want to link to a page on your site.
4. Click on "OK" and you will now have a link on your page.
5. To check that your link is working, preview your page and click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links. For a step by step video on how to Add text links please see: Adding text links.

Please let me know how this goes.
