Hi YHS Newspaper,

When you say that nothing shows up -- are you talking about in the File Manager (i.e. the image is not uploading to your File Manager) OR on the web page you're creating? What exactly IS happening on your end of things (for example, are you getting any kind of an error message)?

Sometimes there's uploading problems because of file size --web friendly images should be between 20 and 100KB, and if your image is larger than that, the problem could be that it is not loading in your browser. And sometimes the image has a web unfriendly format. For example, images need to be uploaded individually -- preferably as a .jpg, a .png or a .gif. If an image is embedded in a MS Word or .pdf document, it won't display as an image -- it will still be embedded in its "container" document. Sometimes there are internet connection lapses, and a second try of uploading your images is all that's needed.

These are just a couple things that come to mind. The only way I could know for certain is to take a look at the image-file-in-question, to see what the possible problem could be (if any). You are welcome to write us a support request from within the Site Builder application, and attach the image file in question, if the advice included above does not seem relevant to your particular situation. Click on Help --> Contact Support, and include as much information as you can in your message. The extra data included in the message about your site /browser will help us solve the problem much more efficiently.

It is just showing a small red line in place of where the picture should be (on the website). When I try and re-upload the picture, it tells me there are no pictures uploaded, and I repeat the process again. In the file manager when I do upload it, it shows the file name, but not the image.

Hi YHS Newspaper,

What's the format of the picture? Is it a .jpeg, .gif, .png etc?

Have your pictures been edited with Photoshop or other image editing software? The problem could be that the images have a CMYK color mode attached to them - which is not web friendly. You should be able to set your color mode to RBG-16bit and you will then be able to upload them. If this is not the issue please let us know.

To add images to your page you can either:
1. Drag and drop an image widget
2. The file manager dialogue box will pop up
3. Upload a picture from your computer
4. Press ok and an image will be added to your page!
Or:
1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page
2. Click "insert image" on the text editing toolbar (the icon that looks like a green tree in a picture frame, roughly in the middle of the toolbar)
3. The file manager will open up and allow you to browse for a select an image
Using the text widget allows you to insert a number of image in the same text box.

Can you tell me at what point in this process it stops working for you, and if you receive any error messages please?

It gets stuck when I upload it, and before it shows up in the window of pictures I have uploaded, it is stuck on "loading" (it says this at the top of the webpage as I am waiting for the image to appear). I have made the image smaller, have decreased the memory, etc. Can the site not accept photographs? I thought they were included as an "image". I did get just a clip art image to appear - so thats why I am questioning the ability to add photos.

The site can certainlt accept photos, did you see Monique's question about photoshop? Is that relevant to you? Could you email us the photo as an attachment to support@synthasite.com, so that we can take a closer look at it, please?

Hi Keith,
I'm sorry your having trouble uploading pictures. Does this happen when you try to add them directly to your File Manager. Here are a few suggestions that might help with the problem:
1. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear your browser's cache.

2. Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer). We would suggest using the Firefox browser as this browser seems to work best in the Yola environment. It is a free download if you would like to give it a try: Download Firefox.

3. Please check to see that you have the latest version of Flash installed, for more information please click here: Flash version.

I hope this helps, if it doesn't please let us know.

Hi Upma,

This thread is more than 2 years old. Please review these troubleshooting steps and let us know if it helps. If it does not, please reply with your file type and size as well as the page address you are adding them to and we'll investigate further.
